Ivo Pestana, M.D., Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He performed a residency in general surgery at University of Miami affiliated hospitals and completed fellowships in transplantation immunology and trauma medicine at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Pestana joins the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from Duke University Medical Center, where he recently completed a fellowship in plastic surgery. Dr. Pestana's clinical specialties include lower extremity trauma, hand surgery, microsurgery, cosmetic surgery, wound care, breast reconstruction and care for patients suffering from burns, breast cancer and skin cancer.
